Ignite was honored to provide Hunter Miller with a scholarship.

Hunter is a 20 year old cancer survivor and above the knee amputee.  At the age of 13 he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his left tibia.  He was treated at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in 2013 and successfully completed just under a year of chemotherapy.  Hunter has been in remission for 5 years now and spends his time raising money for pediatric oncology trials.  He has spent countless hours volunteering through the Vie for the Kids 501(c)3 Organization and is the co-founder of The Robby Brisco Open golf tournament.

Hunter’s positive outlook on life has helped him to get through the most difficult times.  When asked how he keeps himself going given the challenges he has faced his response has been “Attitude is everything.”

5TH ANNUAL GALA FOR CHILD PROTECTION

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF IMPROVING THE LIVES OF CHILDREN

Thursday May 2, 2019 | Gotham Hall, New York City

Hosted by: Peter Alexander, Co-Anchor of “Weekend Today” and NBC News White House Correspondent
Honoring: Amazon Web Servicesthe Federation for Internet Alerts, and The Fund to End Violence Against Children

We were so touched by the story of a brave young woman Kayla Pokorny, also a tireless force, who bravely battled Ewings Sarcoma for 7 years before losing the fight at 19. Her heroic efforts and vision will continue to make an extraordinary difference in the lives of other children battling cancer.
